As Clarence the Angel declares, "Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?" - all of us going through the COVID-19 pandemic can relate more than ever before. We see how every one of us can make a great deal of difference in the lives of so many others, and quarantine has amplified our awareness of the need for community, support, and teamwork.

It's a Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play is based on the classic holiday movie with a clever twist thrown in: the story is staged as a live radio broadcast. Sound effects are done through Foley artists and only five actors take the stage to portray numerous characters, satisfying our practice of social distancing while also enabling the Concord Players to continue to bring quality theatre to our community during this trying time.

It's a Wonderful Life is about the life of George Bailey, a generous and well-meaning man who has become too downcast and tired to continue living. It will take help from the lovable Angel, Clarence, to show George what life would be like if he wasn't born for George to have a change of heart and understand the true spirit of the holidays.

Directed by CP's John Pease (Chicago, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940), our play is cast with a talented array of Concord Players alums, including John Alzapiedi (Amadeus, The Country House, Funny Girl), Jenn Bubriski (Follies, The Producers, Noises Off), Craig Howard (The Sound of Music, Spamalot, The Hunchback of Notre Dame), Michael Jay (Barefoot in the Park), and Rachael Rabinowitz (Desk Set, The Matchmaker).

This radio show will be recorded live, but you will be able to view the performance from the safety of your own home on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, November 20th-22nd, all at 7pm.
