Mr Roberts

In this 1948 Tony Award-winning classic, a restless crew aboard a cargo vessel idling in the South Pacific is desperately craving some onshore action. When the comedic ensemble clashes with their tyrannical captain, it is Mister Roberts who must bail them out. Thomas Heggen and Joshua Logan's moving, yet humorous story of an officer, who sacrifices his personal quest for the morale of his crew, has us reflecting on one man's search for purpose during a time of war.
A reminder to opening night (Series A) subscribers: there is a complimentary reception in the theme of the show to honor our first night ticket holders. The reception begins at 7:00pm. Hors d'oeuvres, desserts and drinks are served.

Musical Comedy Murders of 1940

This wildly comedic romp pokes non-stop fun at show business and the corny thrillers of old Hollywood. The story revolves around a snow-covered reunion of the cast of a recent Broadway flop during which a murderer went on a killing spree on the cast. The tale unfolds in a Chappaqua, NY estate library, complete with secret passageways, sliding panels, and people who aren't what they seem to be.

The Sound of Music
Music by RICHARD RODGERS
Lyrics by OSCAR HAMMERSTEIN II
Book by HOWARD LINDSAY and RUSSEL CROUSE

Suggested by "The Trapp Family Singers" by Maria Augusta Trapp

Maria, an exuberant novice in an Austrian abbey, isn't fitting into somber convent life. To give her an opportunity to get away from the abbey to think her future through, the Mother Abbess sends her to the lavish household of widower, Captain Von Trapp, to be governess to his seven children. As Maria reconciles her growing love for the children's father with her desire to become a nun, the looming Nazi menace in nearby Germany threatens to overwhelm them all.

The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world's most beloved musical.
