Fred Robbins

I have directed and acted in the Boston area since before my hair turned gray! I have also appeared on many area stages over the years in such roles as R.P. MacMurphy in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, Burlington Players, I Never Sang for My Father – Arlington Friends of the Drama and shows with the Quannapowitt Players, New Repertory Theatre, Huntington Theatre, The Theatre Cooperative and Boston Theatre Works. I am also fortunate enough to have been involved with two shows that received Boston’s Elliot Norton award: Not About Nightingales by Tennessee Williams produced by Boston Theater Works and Spinning Into Butter by Rebecca Gilman at The Theatre Cooperative. Enough! My elbow begins to pain me from all the pats on the back!

I am very fortunate to have a very talented cast to work with and breathe life into The Memory of Water. One of the director’s hardest tasks is casting the show and I am impressed and delighted with the talent and commitment of the entire cast. They have made directing this show a delight.

I would like to add special thanks Jean Devine, Thomas Caron and Susie Baldwin as the producers par excellence that did a superb job of pulling all the show elements together. There are far too many people involved in a show for me to thank each one. A theatrical production is the work of many hands and talented people who work very hard for no reward beyond contributing to a creative piece of work. Their talents create these pockets of entertainment for the audience. Here is a chance to sit, watch, hopefully laugh or at least chuckle ever now and then, and to wash away the everyday world for a brief period of time while you enter another world. I hope you enjoy the ride.

I also thank Liz, my beautiful lady and wife, for her love, support and making so many things possible in my. Thank you, mylady.
