NOTES FROM THE BOARD

Our spring show, WEST SIDE STORY, is here!  Performances will be on April 25 and 26 at 8:00pm, May 2, 3, 8 (Thursday), 9, and 10 at 8:00pm, April 27 at 2:00pm, and May 4 at 2:00pm. The Concord Players’ slate of shows for the 2008-2009 season is now official!

Our fall production will be Noel Coward’s hilariously farcical comedy, Hay Fever, directed by Mickey Coburn

Our winter show will be the Kander and Ebb musical, Cabaret, directed by Nancy Curran Willis.  

And our spring production will be Christopher Sergel’s stage adaptation of To Kill A Mockingbird, from the book by Harper Lee, directed by JulieAnn Charest Govang.

At the Concord Players’ annual meeting on March 16, the following two new members of the Concord Players Board of Directors were announced: Joanne Hines and Marcia Marlowe.  Officers elected for next year include Bill Maxwell (President), Cheri Fletcher (Vice President), Jay Newlon (Vice President), Chuck Holleman (Treasurer), and, as mentioned above, Joanne Hines (Secretary). Continuing on the Board are current Board members Lisa Astbury, Faith Pelletier, Susan Tucker, Rick Shamel, Linda McConchie, Lida McGirr, and Tom Sikina.

Corinne Kinsman is recuperating from a recent gall bladder operation which she calls her "weekend escapade".  She and Artty are resting at home.

Casting News:

John Small and Brad Walters are in the cast of The Drawer Boy, a play by Canadian playwright Michael Healey which is being directed by JulieAnn Charest Govang and produced by Vokes Theatre in Wayland, Massachusetts. Robin Gabrielli, who appeared in Concord Players’ 2002 production of The Many Loves of Will Shakespeare, rounds out the play’s 3-person cast. In Memory: Dr. John Leland Sosman

The Concord Players note with sadness the passing of Concord Players member John Leland Sosman, M.D.  Dr. Sosman passed away at his home in Concord on April 3, 2008, at the age of 87. Radiologist at Brigham & Women's Hospital, Boston. Active in international ski racing. Husband of the late Mary Jo (Kibler) Sosman. Father of Eric Sosman and his wife Sully Bonn of Newton, Nancy Sosman of Sebego, ME, Carol Clary Sosman and her husband Peter Ham of Mansfield, Amy Sosman of Portsmouth, NH and the late Honorable Martha Sosman. Grandfather of Jeremy and Ethan Ham. Memorial Service Sunday, April 20 at 1:00 PM in The Conference Center in Waterville Valley, 1 Ski Area Rd., Waterville Valley, NH.
