Chris Davies

Sent as a child from England to Concord to escape the war, Chris had the wit to come back again, meet and marry Susie (when he played Laurie in Little Women in 1962), and settle down as a contributor to the Players for over thirty years.

Chris appeared in Little Women as his own grandfather. (He played the role of grandson Laurie in the 1962 production.) His debut with the Concord Players came in 1958, when he was the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz. Other roles include Mr. Huckleberry in , The Fantasticks Spettigue in Where's Charley?, Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady, and, most recently, Mr. Gradgrind in Hard Times. As a longtime teacher at the Alcott School he has taken scores of students on annual field trips to the Alcotts' Orchard House Museum where he now serves as a member of the Board.
