Seven-year-old Christopher Govang made his theatrical debut at the age of four as a duckling in the Alexander Children's Theatre School production of Honk, Jr. Following this run, he continued on with ACTS at the age of five as a number of ensemble roles in The Wiz (his favorite being a flying monkey). Since then, karate, soccer, baseball, basketball and dance have filled his schedule, but he was more than happy to step in as a member of the Mockingbird ensemble as the 'voice of the young boy.' Christopher plans to be onstage in many roles in his many years ahead, planning already to be 'Fritz' in the Boston Ballet's Nutcracker, 'Jem' in To Kill a Mockingbird, 'Lamar' in Godspell, 'Simon Bliss' in Hay Fever, 'Max' in Lend Me a Tenor and the 'Emcee' in Cabaret, to name a few). Chris is in first grade right now, but pretty much everyone agrees he should be in Congress instead.
