Kaara McHugh

Kaara is excited to be making her debut at the Concord Players in the role of Ulla. She holds a Bachelor’s of Music in Music Ed/Vocal Performance (UMass Amherst) and will be attending Boston Conservatory in the fall to pursue a Master’s of Music in Vocal Pedagogy.

Though she is classically trained, musical theater is her first love and her favorites roles include: Maria Von Trapp in the The Sound of Music (Sterling Community Theater, 2014), Christine Colgate in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (Theater at the Mount, 2015), and Johanna Barker in Sweeney Todd (Auburn Community Players, 2016).

Kaara has taught K-12 chorus, band, and general music in schools in Central MA and New York City, and teaches private voice lessons. She has sung with the Greater Worcester Opera, Diamonds From the Dust, Classical Singing in New York in June, and in France with the Franco American Vocal Academy. Kaara is the alto section leader at St. Mary’s Church in Holliston. When she is not singing, Kaara loves to run competitively.
