The Concord Show Bus will be going to see the production of The Drowsy Chaperone on Tuesday, April 29 at 7:30 p.m. at the Opera House.  This promises to be a wonderful evening where we will be transported to a magical wonderful world - a musical comedy with tons of laughs and the most 2006 Tony Awards of any musical on Broadway!  Please call Sally Bull at 978-369-2042 to reserve tickets.  The cost for ticket, transportation and refreshments is $99.  The bus will leave from 51 Walden.  It should be a special evening!

We want to hear YOUR ideas and suggestions for what the Concord Players should perform at the EMACT Annual Drama Festival, which will take place at the Groton School, Thursday through Sunday, June 12 - 15, 2008 – please let us know at (978) 369-2990 !! The Festival occurs annually in late spring. This popular long-weekend event, which accommodates 18 participating member companies, entertains as well as educates. The Concord Players presented part of The Importance of Being Earnest last year, and won the Festival’s award for Outstanding Costume Design (Pat Kane), as well as nominations for the Mary E. Guinan Set Design Award (Jenn Shea), for Best Supporting Actor (Bill Maxwell), and for the Special Adjudicators Award for Notable Theatrical Risk Taking.

There are a number of spaces left for anyone interested in performing Scenes from Shakespeare at the Concord Players' Annual Meeting!  Antonio Ocampo-Guzman (Shakespeare & Company and Linklater Voice Instructor) is generously making himself available for coaching actors on several scenes from Shakespeare at his Northeastern University office 3-4 times during February and March, culminating in the entertainment for our Annual Meeting.  Anyone interested in this fantastic opportunity should call Lida McGirr at 978-369-2047.  Also - early in the spring, Antonio will be conducting a "Shakespeare and His Text Workshop" for the Concord Players, too!

A Special Note From Our President:

Sadly, John Small will be relinquishing the Secretary post as of June 30.  He has been faithfully and accurately recording the proceedings at our monthly Bd. meetings and been a valuable and enjoyable participant in our monthly executive dinner-get- togethers.  So, Dorothy Schecter is looking for a Secretary to nominate at the annual meeting in March.  Please contact her at  daschecter@nedres.org or 978-369-3259. Also, we are looking to fill the following three positions (contact Bill Maxwell at 978-369-5257 or  wimaxwell@comcast.net  ):
